160 more milk powder packets were distributed among 80 more low-income families, resident in the Padukka Divisional Secretariat area in Colombo District on Thursday (05 January) after inviting them to the Divisional Secretariat office as one more segment of the Green Agriculture Operation Centre-initiated project of Fonterra Brands Lanka Company Ltd in collaboration with the Security Force Headquarters - West.
In the last few days, 4536 milk powder packets were thus distributed among most deserving civilians in 13 Divisional Secretariat areas in Colombo District.
All the arrangements for the distribution on Thursday (5) were organized at a simple ceremony at the Divisional Secretariat Office in Padukka. Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West and the 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - West, Major General Deepal Pussella gave their support to the project.
The Commander, Security Forces - West graced the distribution occasion, together with the South Asian Managing Director of Fonterra Company Ltd, Mr Yauwan Wigneshwaran.
Senior Officers, Officials at the Divisional Secretariat, Padukka and Other Ranks also attended the day’s event.
