The Officers’ Training Day for 2024 was successfully conducted at the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) on 25 April 2024, with the active participation of Senior Officers and Officers.
This event was initiated under the guidance of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Colonel of the Regiment – MIR and Commander of Security Forces Jaffna, with the supervision of Brigadier A.K Peiris RSP, the Centre Commandant of Regimental Centre- MIR.
The programme commenced with physical training for all officers, including foot and sword drills for junior officers. Major B. M. A. I. U. Obayasena USP psc, delivered an enlightening lecture on ‘Drone Warfare’, and the attendees benefited from further insights shared by visiting lecturer Dr. Kiloshani Hendawitarana.
