Now, Retiring Military Secretary Given Best Wishes

The Military Secretary at the Army Headquarters, Major General Ajith Kolambathantri of the Sri Lanka Artillery having completed an illustrious service of more than 34 years was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army on the verge of his retirement on Monday (30).

General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army during the interactive meet appreciated the dedication and committed service of the retiring Major General Ajith Kolambathantri. He also paid tribute to his well-organized team work in his capacity as the Military Secretary for more than a year.

Similarly, the Army Chief extolled the retiring Senior Officer’s professional consultations, made on behalf of the organization and how he rendered his services as the Military Secretary to the Army HQ.

The outgoing Senior Officer also thanked the Commander of the Army for his wishes and the thoughtfulness while mentioning the encouragement he received from the Army Chief in the performance of his duties. He also commended the Army Chief for his generous support and extended best wishes for his new appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff.

Towards the end of the interaction, General Shavendra Silva presented a special memento to the outgoing Major General Ajith Kolambathanthri as a symbol of appreciation and commendation.

Mrs Shiromi Kolambathantri and their daughter studying at St Paul’s Vidyalaya at Milagiriya were also associated with the occasion.
