Now, 14 SLFPC Troops in Lebanon Face Third Quarter COE Inspection

A representative team from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headdquarters visited the 14 Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) and conducted their 3rd quarter Contingent Own Equipment (COE) Inspection on 01 August 2023 at the Sri Base camp premises in Naquora, Lebanon.

The quarterly inspection is carried out to assess the serviceability of equipment provided by the Sri Lankan government to the SLFPC in order to ensure major and minor equipment meet the performance standards, set out by the UN as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the government of Sri Lanka and the UNIFIL for the duration of the deployment of such equipment.

The team, headed by COE Chief, Miss Mona inspected all the COE under categories such as Containers, Combat Vehicles, Support Vehicles-Commercial pattern, Support Vehicle-Military pattern, Armament, Ammunition, Logistic Equipment, etc under major equipment category, provided by the government to ensure their self-sustainment. Responsible Officers of the 14 SLFPC, including the Contingent Commander, Lieutenant Colonel D.P.L.T Kaluaggala liaised with the inspection.

At the conclusion of the inspection, major equipment and self-sustainment assessment inspection worksheets were signed by the inspection team and the Contingent representatives. On completion of the inspection, the team assembled at the auditorium and conducted a de-brief to the representatives of the contingent, a few important facts that should be noted in the process.
