Newly-Promoted Major Generals Receive Symbols of Authority

Recently promoted Major Generals, received their symbols of authority and greetings from the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, during a formal courtesy call held today (19 February 2024) at the Commander’s Office.

The newly promoted Major General C.P. Arangalla psc of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General P.K.S. Nandana RSP USP psc of Gemunu Watch, Major General B.I. Assalaratchi USP psc ptsc of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Major General D.C.A. Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC of Sri Lanka Engineers were present at the occasion.

The Commander of the Army extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to those newly promoted Major Generals who have sweated for more than three decades for the betterment of the nation.

After cordial interactions, the Commander of the Army awarded each of them the symbolic General’s sword to signify their new authority as two-star Generals. The Senior Officers thanking the Commander of the Army for his warm wishes, added memories to the occasion by posing for several photographs.
