New VIR Colonel of the Regiment Assumes Office

The newly-appointed Colonel of the Regiment, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Major General N.A.J.C. Dias assumed office on Thursday (12) during a brief religious ceremony.

Major General N.A.J.C. Dias is also the Adjutant General of the Army Headquarters.

Upon arrival at the VIR Regimental Headquarters at Boyagane, Kurunegala, the new Colonel of the Regiment was greeted to a Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour at the premises. Offer of flowers to the VIR monument, troops address, sharing of refreshments with all ranks dominated the main ceremony.
