New Military Secretary at Army Headquarters Begins Duties

Major General Mahendra Fernando of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps assumed office today (21) as the new Military Secretary (MS) of the Sri Lanka Army at the Army Headquarters during a brief ceremony.

After arrival at his office, the newly-appointed Military Secretary left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office amid chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha.

Staff Officers and Other Ranks in the MS Branch attended the inauguration of the new office.

Major General Mahendra Fernando, prior to this appointment served as the General Officer Commanding, 51 Division of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna.
