A Maternity Home plus a Public Health Inspector’s Office, built with the labour and technical support provided by 572 Brigade and 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Army troops at Vishvamadu, Kilinochchi was opened on Sunday (23).
Hon Namal Rajapaksa (MP), ceremonially opened the complex, constructed at the expense of Department of Sri Lanka Excise which wanted it be a reality to mark its 100th anniversary of founding.
Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Commander 572 Brigade Headquarters and a gathering of civilians attended opening ceremony.
The following day (24), the Parliamentarian Hon Namal Rajapaksa gave away keys to 39 newly constructed houses for the people who came for resettlement from Manik Farm in Vavuniya.
All those houses were built by troops of 15 (v) Engineer Service Regiment and 13 National Guard. Each house cost about Rs 1,15,000 lakhs and funds were provided by the government.
