New Logistic Commander, Maj Gen Indu Samarakoon Assumes Office

Major General Indu Samarakoon assumed office as the new Commander, Army Logistic Command on Monday (2) at the Logistic Command Headquarters in Kosgama during a brief ceremony.

Troops presented a Guard Turnout at the entrance and a Guard of Honour afterwards as formalities. In keeping with military traditions, he reviewed the honours and received the salute from the special dais. Later on, he signed an official document to signify the official acceptance of the new appointment and addressed the troops at the venue.

Major General Indu Samarakoon succeeds Major General Ranjan Premalal who just retired from the Army.

Major General Samarakoon is the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) and was the Director General of Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before the new appointment. Few Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks attended the event by strictly adhering to health guidelines.
