Major General Mihindu Perera assumed office as the General Officer Commanding, 12 Division of the Security Force HQ - Central on Saturday (8) at the 12 Division Headquarters at Nagarawewa in Hambantota.
On his arrival at the premises, Colonel Prasad Jayasinghe, Colonel General Staff, warmly welcomed the incoming Senior Officer and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance.
Later on, he was invited to take the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented by 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops in accordance with military traditions.
Planting of a mango sapling, posing for group photographs and the troop address brought the day’s formalities to an end.
121 and 122 Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 12 Division attended the occasion.
He succeeds Major General Lanka Amarapala who has now been appointed as General Officer Commanding, Engineer Division.
