The newly appointed General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, Brigadier Deepal Pussella made his first official field visits to under command Brigades and Battalions. At first, he made his first field visit to the 622 Brigade at Halambawewa on 20 January.
The visiting General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commander Colonel Sampath Fernando. Afterwards, the Brigade Commander briefed the visitor on operational matters and deployment along with administrative matters. Later, the General Officer Commanding spoke out his mind to Officers and Other Ranks before he visited its under command Battalions of the 622 Brigade, 9 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 20 Gajaba Regiment (GR) Battalions and their deployments for duties.
On 21 January General Officer Commanding visited 621 Brigade located at Welioya. The visitor was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality followed by the briefing of the Commander, 621 Brigade, Colonel Keerthi Perakum and the programe included a troop address. After familiarizing with the Brigade, General Officer Commanding visited 14 (V) SLLI Battalion Headquarters.
Concluding his field visits, General Officer Commanding made his final visit on Friday (22) to the 623 Brigade located at Wediwettukallu. The General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Prabath Kodithuwakku, Commander, 623 Brigade followed by the briefing of the Brigade Commander.
