Brigadier Manjula Kariyawasam of the Sri Lanka Artillery assumed office as the 33rd Director at Directorate of Staff Duties on Tuesday (10) in his office at the Army Headquarters during a brief ceremony.
The newly-appointed Director after religious observances left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office. Prior to this new appointment, he served as the Regimental Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery.
Staff officers of the Directorate, together with few Other Ranks attended the occasion. He succeeds Brigadier Manada Yahampath who has been selected to follow the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University in Pakistan.
