New Director Plans Takes Over Responsibilities

Brigadier Shewanth Kulatunge of the Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment assumed office as the 24th Director at Directorate of Plans at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday (14) during a simple ceremony.

Members of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the new office before Brigadier Shewanth Kulatunge signed an official document to signify the formal acceptance of his new responsibilities.

Before the present appointment, Brigadier Shiwantha Kulatunge was the Defence Attaché at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Pakistan. He succeeds Brigadier Jayantha Balasooriya who just retired from the Army.

Few Senior Officers, Staff Officers of the Directorate attended the occasion.
