New Director Plans Assumes Office

Brigadier W.S.N Hemarathna RWP RSP psc of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assumed duties as the new Director Plans at the Directorate of Plans at Army Headquarters on Friday (28 July) during a brief religious ceremony at the Army HQ.

The incoming new Director symbolically placed his signature for a formal document amid chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha signifying the acceptance of the new appointment at the auspicious minute.

He succeeds Brigadier M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc who has now been appointed as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA). The new Director, Brigadier W.S.N Hemarathna RWP RSP psc served as the Deputy Commandant of the SLMA prior to this appointment.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Directorate of Plans were present at the occasion.
