Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku of the Sri Lanka Artillery on Friday (03) took over duties as the new Director Personnel Administration (DPA) of the Army at his office in the Army Headquarters at Sri Jayewardenepura.
He succeeded Major General Udaya Kumara who has now assumed as the General Officer Commanding 51 Division in Jaffna. Soon after Brigadier Kodithuwakku arrived at the office, he performed religious rites and lit the traditional oil lamp, together with a few of his Staff Officers.
Members of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on his new appointment in the office as he placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office.
Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku before assumption of this office served as Commander, 613 Brigade.
