New Commander Security Forces -East Undertakes Field Visits

The Commander Security Forces- East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri, upon his recent assumption of office made his familiarization visits to the 233 Brigade Headquarters in Vakare and 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, Navalladi on Tuesday (21).

He first arrived at the 'A' Company of 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, Kadiraveli and inspected administrative aspects as well as welfare facilities of the troops in place. General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Division, Major General Nalin Koswatte and the Commander 233 Brigade Colonel Wasantha Hewage welcomed the visiting East Commander on arrival at the 233 Brigade Headquarters where he was greeted to a drive pass salute at the main entrance. He was then invited to plant a sapling in front of the Brigade Headquarters office and posed for a group photograph as memories.

Subsequently, the Commander Security Forces -East took time off to mingle with the troops during the camp visit and inquired into their needs and other welfare measures and left a complimentary remark in the visitors' book before his departure.

In the afternoon, he called at the 6 Gajaba Regiment Headquarters in Navalladi and attended the formalities there, too. The officers and soldiers met him and he had the opportunity to discuss matters pertaining to administration aspects, operational needs, welfare measures and requirements of the troops during this field visit.
