Brigadier Wasantha Liyanawaduge assumed duties as the 9th Commandant at the Army Vocational Training Center at Kalaoya on Wednesday (11), amidst religious blessings and military formalities.
The newly-appointed Commandant of Center of Army Vocational Training was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout presented by troops at the Army Vocational Training Center before he was invited to leave memories by planting a sapling to mark the event.
Later on, Brigadier Wasantha Liyanawaduge placed his signature for an official document to mark his assumption of duties amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of senior officers. The formal address to the Officers and Other Ranks followed after an all rank tea before the day’s proceedings ended.
Staff Officers of the Vocational Training Centre and other ranks joined the proceedings.
