New Central Commander Receives Blessings

In accordance with traditions, the recently- appointed Commander, Security Forces-Central, Major General W. W. H. R. R. V. M. N. D K. B Niyangoda RWP RSP USP VSV ndu psc called on Maha Nayaka and Anu Nayaka Theros of Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters and received blessings during 12 - 17 August 2023.

At first, the new Central Commander met Maha Vihara Vanshika Most Venerable Warakagoda Dhammasiddhi Sri Pannananda Gnanarathanabidhana Maha Nayaka Thero at the Asgiriya Temple before he paid obeisance to the Maha Nayaka of Malwatte Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangalabhidana Maha Nayaka Thero at the Malwatte Temple.

Afterwards, Most Venerable Dimbulkumbure Saranankara Wimaladhammabhidana, Anunayaka Thero of Malwatte Chapter and Most Venerable Saddhamajothika Shashana Keerthi Sri Niyangoda Dharmakeerthi Sri Sangarakshitha Vijithasiri Anunayaka Thero of Malwatte Chapter invoked spiritual blessings on the new appointment during two separate meetings.

During next two days, Major General W. W. H. R. R. V. M. N. D K. B Niyangoda paid courtesy calls on the Governor of the Central Province Mr Lalith U Gamage and the Diyawadana Nilame at Sri Dalada Maligawa, Mr Nilanga Dela Bandara.

Similarly, the new Central Commander made offerings to the Temple of Tooth before his departure.
