Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) instructors and trainers commenced their initial training programme for 28 Tamil youths, enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force through the Security Force Headquarters Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Wednesday (9).
Major General A.S De Z Wickramarathna addressed the inaugural occasion and explained to them the 16-week long training programme, conducted in Tamil language with practical sessions plus the on-the-job training. During the training period, they will work at Mullaithivu area as motor mechanics, electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters and masons.
During the training period, they are to be paid a basic salary of Rs 14,425/= and other allowances with medicine, uniforms, transport, and other facilities provided.
