The 15th President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) Mrs Sujeewa Nelson assumed office on Thursday (29) at her office in Narahenpita amid religious blessings, warm greetings and best wishes.
Amidst 'Seth Pirith' chanting, conducted by members of the Maha Sangha, headed by the well-known preacher, Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero, the new ASVU President signed a formal document to signify the acceptance of the new office at Narahenpita.
The new SVU President on arrival was welcomed by Mrs Shiromi Liyanage, Chairperson Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) and an executive office-bearer in the ASVU. She afterwards made a brief address to the occasion and requested everyone's support to carry out her future roles.
