New 61 GOC Assumes Office

Major General K.H.M.S Wikramarathne RSP assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 61 Infantry Division, amidst religious observances and military formalities at the 61 Infantry Division in Boossa on 24 April 2024.

Upon his arrival, Major General K.H.M.S Wikramarathne RSP was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers and greeted in a Guard Turnout presented by 2 (V) Gamunu Watch troops. Subsequently, he symbolically signed an official document marking the commencement of his responsibilities in his new office.

Addressing all Officers and Other Ranks in accordance with military formalities, the newly-appointed GOC shared his vision for the Division’s future. Brigade Commanders, Divisional Staff Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the occasion.
