Responding positively to a request of the Coconut Cultivation Board (CCB), Oddusudan in Maritimepaththu Divisional Secretariat area in the Mullaittivu District seeking the Army assistance for propagation of coconut cultivation in non-traditional areas, such as Oddusudan, Mullaittivu and Puththukuddirippu areas, Major General Rasika Fernando, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division considering the national interest of the project, has directed the 68 Division troops to cooperate with the CCB efforts to distribute 1000 coconut seedlings in respective areas on Wednesday (13).
Accordingly, troops of the 68 Division organized the distribution programme in close cooperation with Coconut Development Officer, Oddusudan, Mr R.M Rathnayake and on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces – Mullaittivu (SF-MLT), Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru.
