Army medical troops along with troops of the 57,59, 64, 66 and 68 Divisions carried out mobile vaccination a programmes for elderly people above 60 years of age, sick, handicapped and feeble ones on Monday (23) in Mullaittivu area.
The national drive, fully supported by the Army as per directions of the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva got to a start in the presence of the Commander Security Force (Mullaittivu), Major General Sisira pilapitiya, Coordinator for COVID Prevention Project in respective areas in Mullathivu.
The vaccination programme was supervised by respective General Officers Commanding of 57, 59, 64, 66 and 68 Division and supported by respective Brigade commanders.
Elderly people who need this mobile service are requested to get in touch with respective Assistant Divisional Secretariats, Grama Niladharis, health workers and the District Secretariat or the SF HQ- Mullaittivu for necessary coordination.
