The Old Boys Association of the Colombo Ananda College (1975 and 80 OBA Batches) at the request of the 593 Infantry Brigade of the 59 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu was generous in donating a large consignment of school books and essentials to 76 students of low-income group families at both Kokilai Tamil Mixed School and Kokilai Sinhala School during arrangements, staged at Kokilai Sinhala School on Friday (13 January).
The project saw each deserving student, studying in both schools received a parcel of school books and accessories to the value of Rs 7500/=. A total of 76 students in both schools were the beneficiaries and the value of the stock stood at Rs 570,000/=.
Troops of the 19 Gemunu Watch and the 5 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment jointly organized the distributing event under the guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu, together with the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 59 Division and the 593 Brigade Commander.
Sponsoring representatives of the OBA, Colombo Ananda College (75 and 85), Principals, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and teachers attended the occasion.
