Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on May 31 celebrated its fourth anniversary, giving pride of place to religious observances of four major faiths.
These religious performances during May 31 - June 5, symbolically invoked blessings on the flags of the SFHQ-MLT, Divisions, Brigades and Units at Alampil Church, Wattappalai Hindu Kovil and in a special Islamic prayer session at the SFHQ-MLT auditorium.
On Tuesday (4), Buddhist religious observances, including an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony plus offer of Heel Dana (breakfast) to Buddhist monks, the following morning (5) ended the first segment of the anniversary arrangements.
Major General L.B.R Mark, Security Force Commander - Mullaittivu was accorded a Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour on Wednesday (5) in accordance with military traditions as one more feature of the anniversary programme.
An all rank tea party, planting of tree saplings plus an address by the Security Force Commander -Mullaittivu at the SFHQ-MLT premises culminated anniversary programmes.
