Mullaittivu &;amp; Panagoda Army Base Hospital Inmates Receive New Year Gift


Distribution of gift parcels among resident patients and inmates at Mullaittivu Army Base Hospital and Mullaittivu District Hospital on account of Sinhala and Tamil New Year took place on Wednesday (16).

Major General Jagath Dias, Commander Security Force Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) visited both those hospitals, together with several senior officers and gave away symbolic gift parcels, dispatched by the  Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.  

Major General A.S. De Z Wickramaratne, Commander, 59 Division, Brigadier T.J Nanayakkara, Commander, 68 Division and several other senior officers, joined Major General Dias on the assignment.

Meanwhile, Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, West (SFHQ-West) followed suit and gave away gift parcels to resident patients at Army Base Hospital at Panagoda on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. The visit followed instructions of the Commander of the Army who had sent gift parcels for this specific purpose.

Brigadier H.J.S Gunewardena, Brigadier W.H.A Sudasinghe, Brigadier W.G.H.A.S Bandara, Colonel M.S.C Perera and a few other officers were associated with the hospital visit at Panagoda.

In the meantime, all Regimental Headquarters under the SFHQ-West joined together to conduct a New Year fair at the Panagoda Army School premises in order to sell provisions at reasonable price on April 11.

On behalf of the Commander SFHQ-West, Brigadier H.J.S Gunewardena, Centre Commandant, Sri Lanka Engineers as the Chief Guest opened the fair on that day.
