'Mr Jaffna - 2018' Goes to Private Arachchi of the 7 GR

The Grand Finale of the bodybuilding competition 'Mr. Jaffna - 2018' was held at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) auditorium on Thursday (5).

Among Seventy five competitors, fifteen competitors were selected into the final round. 'Mr Jaffna - 2018' was guided and judged by a professional board of judges; Mr M Padhmasiri, Chief Judge of the Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Mr Sanjeewa Silva, Former Professional Bodybuilder and Grade A Judge of the Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Mr Welinton Samarasinghe, Former President and Senior Judge of the Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and Mr Sanjeewa Rathnayake, Grade A Judge and Coach of the Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.

The Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The 'Mr. Jaffna - 2018' was organized by the SFHQ-J on a proposal made by the Commander, SF-J in order to empower the talents of soldiers in the Jaffna Peninsula.

'Mr. Jaffna - 2018' title was clinched by Private R.S.M Arachchi of the 7 Gajaba Regiment while 1st Runners-up slot was secured by Corporal A.M Ajith Bandara of the 5 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. The 2nd Runners-up title was secured by Private A.A.R Priyadewa of the 26 Sri Lanka National Guard.

Awards and certificates for the winners were presented by the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna during a brief ceremony.

The members of the New World Gym in Jaffna and the Gemunu Watch Bodybuilding Team conducted a bodybuilding display during the event.

Senior Officers and Other Ranks in the Jaffna peninsula also witnessed the competition.
