More PT Instructors Pass Out

The Passing out Parade (PoP) of Assistant Physical Training Course (APTC) No - 126 for potential PT instructors took place at the Army Physical Training School at Panagoda on Friday (09) during a simple awarding ceremony.

164 Other Ranks qualified as Physical Instructors and 88 Physical Instructors who reached the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level - 4 received certificates at the occasion.

Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Deputy Chief of Staff graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and joined the certificate awarding ceremony. Colonel Rukshan Kannangara, Commandant, Army Physical Training School, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the PoP and the awarding ceremony.

Private R.M.K Dilhara of Sri Lanka Women’s Corps secured the 1st in order of merit as the best female student of the course and Lance Corporal W.G.A.S Dayananda of Special Forces received the 1st in order of merit as the best male student of the course. Private S. Hettiarachchi of Sri Lanka National Guard received the award as the Best Gymnast of Assistant Physical Training Instructor Course and Private S.S.A.H.M Herath of Sri Lanka National Guard received the award as the Best Endurance. Corporal W.K Sampath of the Commando Regiment was adjudged as the Best Section Command of Assistant Physical Training Instructor Course.

A gathering of Officers and senior instructors witnessed the day's ceremony.
