More & More Set to Leave Home After Quarantine Process

A single COVID-19 infected patient, a sea marshal who returned from Chennai and undergoing quarantining at Fairway Sunset Hotel Quarantine Centre has been reported by this morning (13). The total number of infected detainees at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu stands at 629 as of this morning (13) by 6.00 am. Of them, 508 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates and 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The flight QR 668 from Doha with 13 passengers, the flight 6E 9103 from Chennai with 39 passengers and the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 290 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri services this morning (13).

As of today (13), 35 quarantined individuals are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 06 were Sri Lankan expatriates from Oluvil QC, 09 from Punani QC, 13 from Panichchankerni QC and 07 from Viddaththapalai QC. To-date, 30,133 individuals after completion of the Quarantine Process have left for their homes. Likewise, 3840 persons in 40 tri-service -managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (12), 1370 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 177,400.

Meanwhile, 16 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (13). 11 of them were identified locally and the rest, 05 were among Sri Lankan expatriates. Accordingly, 460 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have left.
