More Expatriates Arriving Home-NOCPCO

As of this morning (9), a total of 798 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All 797 of them, except one Sri Lankan expatriate are locally-identified affectees. Of those persons, 526 are from Colombo, 97 from Gampaha, 53 from Kalutara and others are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (9), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 25,818. Meanwhile, 17,850 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (22,759) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (8), a total of 29,377 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 21,257 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,978 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (9), 454 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 142 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. No COVID-19 death was reported in the past 24 hours.

By this morning (9), the flight UL 104 from the Maldives with 41 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 26 passengers and the flight UL 1264 from Saudi Arabia with 158 passengers, the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 42 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 22 passengers have arrived in Colombo. They all were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.

Within today (9), the flights UL 1042 with 6 passengers from India, UL 102 with 3 passengers from the Maldives, UL 190 from Bangladesh with 35 passengers, UL 303 from Singapore with one passenger, UL 315 from Malaysia with 218 passengers and UL 881 from China with six passengers are expected to touch down Colombo airport. They all were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
