Enriching the community assistance concept further, the Security Forces Headquarters -Mullaittivu with sponsorship received from donors gifted dry ration packs and offered spectacles to the needy community living in the area of responsibility of the 68 Division of the Security Force HQ.
The donor, Mr Pregalitha Pushpakumara in close coordination with Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe came forward to sponsor 60 packets of dry rations, consist of 5 kg of rice, 01 kg of sugar, 01 kg of lentils (dhal) and 01 packet of biscuits for distribution among the poorest. The distribution was organized under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 68 Division, Major General Keerthi Bandara, together with the support of 682 Brigade troops.
Commander of the Security Forces - Mullaittivu, Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe as the chief guest distributed those packs during this community programme, held at the 682 Brigade HQ premises on Monday (03).
During the community programme, the same support enabled the troops to conduct a mobile eye clinic for the benefit of civilians who have impaired vision and other vision complications. The Vision Care Pvt Ltd extended its support for conduct and supply of spectacles for the most wanted. 682 Brigade troops arranged all facilities and refreshments for the staff and civilians alike for those who came for the mobile eye clinic.
The General Officer Commanding of the 68 Division, Major General Keerthi Bandara, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Forces Headquarters-Mullaittivu, Brigadier Wasantha Palamakumbura, Brigade Commander of the 682 Brigade, Brigadier Chaminda Galapaththi, Commander 681 Brigade, Brigadier Nalin Hettiarachchi, Civil Coordination Officers, Officers and Other Ranks, supported the conduct of those community projects.
