Mobile Kiosk for Vegetables & Essentials Launched Near Army HQ

Well aware of the consequences of economic hardships, common to All Ranks too in the Army, the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, together with the Sri Lanka Army's Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock on a suggestion, made by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage this afternoon (11) launched a Mobile Agricultural Products Shop where Army-produced vegetables and dairy products are sold to All Ranks at a concessionary price.

To be in line with the 73rd Army Anniversary, the mobile shop, parked near the vehicle park at the Army HQ at Pelawatte, Battaramulla will continue to remain open on every Tuesday and Friday from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army at the invitation of Major General WBSM Abeysekara RSP USP, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, graced the inaugural occasion as the Chief Guest and symbolically bought a few varieties of vegetables and other products.

Major General T J Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff, Major General WBSM Abeysekara RSP USP, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Brigadier AK Rajapaksha RSP, Director, Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the inaugural event.
