66 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi initiated and coordinated the conduct of a mobile dental clinic for poor civilians in Veravil area, Kilinochchi at Veravil Hindu College on Saturday (12) as one more community project of the troops.
Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilaka, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division suggested the project in close contact with Kilinochchi region-based dentists and medical officers, Dr Maduwanthi and Dr Balakumar.
19(V) Gajaba Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 663 Brigade actively made preparations for conduct of the mobile clinic which examined 132 students and civilians in the area.
Brigade Commander, 663 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Lasantha Rodrigo attended the occasion as a special guest. Several officers, religious and community leaders were also present during the clinic.
Medical consultations given and references were also made in respect of some of the attendees for further treatment.
