ON the invitation of Secretary Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa, a group of Ministers, MPs and Secretaries of Ministries visited Security Forces Headquarters area in Kilinochchi on 17 May 2010. They arrived at Security Forces Headquarters in Iranamadu where the Governor of Northern Province, Security Forces Commander and District Secretary Kilinochchi received them.
The Security Forces Commander, briefed them on civil matters pertaining to his area, followed up by a briefing of the Governor and Secretaries to Provincial Ministries over the progress on the entire Northern Province. Later, the Ministerial delegation was taken on a field visit that covered Kilinochchi Hospital, Central College, Maha Vidyalaya, the Vehicle Yard and Jayanthinagar to see new houses under construction. Later, they flew to Pooneryn and visited the Sanguppiddi Jetty, Kalmunai Point and Manitalei Jetty. The delegation received ample opportunities to interact with the public to understand their burning problems and they assured all support to solve them.
