Troops of the Security Force HQ - West in Panagoda presented honours to their outgoing Commander Security Forces, Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa on Wednesday (15).
On his arrival at the premises, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops saluted him in a Guard Turnout before Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa was invited to review the Guard of Honour, presented by SFHQ troops.
Afterwards, the outgoing West Commander addressed the gathering, thanked all of them for their immense contribution during his tenure, and finally joined all ranks for refreshments.
Major General Dammi Hewage General Officer Commanding, 61 Division on behalf of all in the SFHQ -West presented a memento to the outgoing Commander as a symbol of gratitude.
Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa will shortly take over duties as the new Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.
Few senior Officers, including GOCs Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers, joined the occasion.
