MIC Regimental HQ Plants 1000 Coconut Saplings & Launches Several Projects

To mark the 75th Diamond Jubilee of Independence, the Military Intelligence Corps (MIC), the Regimental Center at Karandeniya on Saturday (26) launched a project to plant 1000 coconut saplings inside the Regiment HQ premises, headed by Major General Suresh Salley, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Military Intelligence Corps as the Chief Guest for the occasion

With the intention of giving a boost to the national drive of planting 500,000 coconut saplings in the island, the MIC project was launched along with several other auxiliary projects, inclusive of a soap-producing unit, production of brooms, cinnamon oil, coconut charcoal.

A mini factory that could produce pure coconut oil as well as another office unit for the entire project was also opened by Major General Suresh Salley, the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment during his stay there. The Colonel Commandant, Military Intelligence Corps also visited those producing units and observed their functional aspects

Colonel Ravindra Kumara, Deputy Commandant of the Regimental Center of Military Intelligence Corps, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in the day's programme.
