MIC Information Leads to Arrest Man with ICE

9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops, together with MIC troops using a decoy on a tip-off apprehended a suspect (25) with 65g of ICE drug from the general area of Iranamadu Junction in Kilinochchi area around 4.45 p.m. on Sunday (1).

Those Security Force HQ - Kilinochchi-based (SFHQ-KLN) troops on information about the involvement of a youth in the sale of ICE in the area got him down through a decoy. The suspect carrying ICE for sale arrived in his vehicle at the junction when the troops caught him with drugs and handed over to the Kilinochchi Police Station through the STF who were serving in the close vicinity.

The detection was made under the close supervision of the Commander, SF-KLN, Major General Jayantha Gunaratne who has been instructed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army for conduct of constant surveillance on this national menace following increase of use of those drugs has been reported from the North as well.
