Many Senior Officers to Take Over New Appointments

Major General S.A.P.P Samarasinghe, currently the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) has been appointed as Sri Lanka Army’s Chief of Staff, effective from 17 May 2014. He succeeds Major General A.W.J.C De Silva.

Meanwhile, Major General E.M.M Ambanpola, has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff with effect from 9 May 2014 after Major General E.P. De Z Abeysekara went on retirement. Major General S.W.L Daulagala, is to take over as the new Commandant, SLAVF after relinquishing his present duties as the Director General General Staff.

In the meantime, Major General A.K.S Perera after relinquishing his appointment as Commander, Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-W) is to take over the appointment of as Director General General Staff (DGGS) at Army Headquarters effective from 17 May 2014.

Major General U.A.B Medawela, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central will take over as new Commander Security Force Headquarters - West beginning 17 May 2014.

In addition, Major General A.M Perera is to take over as Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central after relinquishing his present duties as Director General Rehabilitation. Major General N Udawatta is to take over duties as new Master General Ordnance beginning 16 May 2014.
