Many Additions to Vavuniya Temple Opened

Formal opening of the parapet wall around Vavuniya’s Sri Bodhi Dhakshinarama Temple, constructed by troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) plus unveiling of statues of Lord Buddha and Lord Ganesh in the premises took place on Friday (19) during a ceremony, attended by donors, Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W), SSP for Vavuniya and a group of invitees.

The erection of the new perimeter wall and other unveilings were organized under the auspices of Ven Siyambalagaswewa Wimalasara Nayaka Thero, incumbent, Sri Bodhi Dhakshinarama Temple in the heart of Vavuniya town.

Mr Athula Eliyapura and Mrs Asanga Eliyapura, owners of Raja Jewellers, Bambalapitiya donated the Buddha Statue while Mr Janaka Ravindra Fernando, a Municipal Councillor at Vavuniya Municipal Council gifted the Lord Ganesh statue to the temple.
