Major General M.T.K.R Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, undertook a courtesy visit to the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) on 26 March 2024. The Commanding Officer warmly welcomed the Deputy Commandant upon his arrival.
The troops of 2 (V) SLLI presented a guard turnout in honour of the Senior Officer. Subsequently, the visiting Senior Officer planted a sapling, symbolizing growth and continuity and then posed for a group photograph.
During his address, the Deputy Commandant expressed his appreciation for the successful integration of duties and responsibilities in the Battalion. Thereafter, a memento exchange took place between the Deputy Commandant and the Commanding Officer.
Prior to his departure, the Deputy Commandant conducted a camp visit, interacted with the troops during and All Ranks lunch and penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitor’s book.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were also present during the day’s event.
