The recently-appointed Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wijesundara on 4 July 2022 received the blessings of the Maha Sangha and the Bishop of Jaffna, Rev Dr. Justiu B Gnanapragasam after making visits to the Sri Naga Viharaya in the Jaffna Town and the Bishop House in Jaffna.
Members of the Maha Sangha at Sri Naga Viharaya, led by Ven Meegahajandure Sri Vimaladewa Thera after religious observances invoked blessings on the new Commander's office. Later on, Major General Chandana Wijesundara had an audience with the Bishop of Jaffna, Rev Dr. Justiu B Gnanapragasam who also prayed for the smooth conduct of affairs in his new office.
