Brigadier L.G.J.N Ariyathilaka RWP RSP of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant, Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya on Wednesday (23 August) amidst religious observances and military formalities.
The incoming Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, ATS after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Afterwards, he symbolically left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office after observance of religious blessings. He also left memories of his inauguration by planting a sapling inside the ATS compound.
Prior to this appointment, Brigadier L.G.J.N Ariyathilaka RWP RSP served as the Brigade Commander of the 512 Infantry Brigade. He succeeds Brigadier K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayeake USP who has now been appointed as the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division.
