A collective effort of the Green Agriculture Operation Centre, Security Forces Headquarters - West, Divisional Secretariats and sponsoring Fonterra Brands Lanka Company Ltd saw 114 more low-income group families in the Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat in Gampaha District received milk powder packets on Thursday (Dec 22).
Each 228 deserving families were given two packets as Fonterra Brands Lanka Company Ltd came forward to donate those milk powder stocks at the request of the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army.
The Gampaha District programme was organized by 141 Infantry Brigade troops under the guidance of Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West, and Major General Roshan Jayamanna, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Infantry Division. Brigadier Bandula Kariyawasam, Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade with respective Commanding Officers in the area made all arrangements in consultation with respective Grama Seva officials.
The same sponsor has been engaged in the distribution of those relief packets across the country in the past few weeks.
