Lost Wallet Returned to Owner in Jaffna

A group of Army personnel of the 515 Brigade of the 51 Division under the Security Force Headquarters -Jaffna found a wallet with cash from the general area of Urani along Kankesanthurai - Point Pedro Road and handed it over to the owner on Tuesday (8).

The Staff Sergeant K.H.A Saman Kumara of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police serving the 515 Brigade found this wallet from the roadside while he was proceeding for his duties.

Afterwards, troops found the owner, Mr Koneshwaramoorthy Diviyanesh of Thikkayawal Alwai in North West of Alwai who is a computer technician. After confirmation of his identity, the wallet with Rs 10,400.00, with few ATM Bank cards, National Identity Card and several visiting cards was return to the owner.

The information about the owner was obtained in consultation with the respective Grama Seva Niladari. The General Officer Commanding, 51 Division and the 515 Brigade Commander complimented the soldier for his honesty and conduct.
