Log Command Headquarters Holds Army Day Commemorations


Troops at the Headquarters of the Log Command of the Army at Kosgama, on the directions of its Commander, Major General R. M. J. A Rathnayaka, had their own Army Day anniversary programmes, organized in the premises on October 10.        
 
Directed by Brigadier D.C.J.W Jayasekera, a Shramadana campaign, held at Kosgama Government Hospital carried out a programme for repainting of hospital beds, cupboards, furniture, etc before the surrounding was cleaned up.
 
At the same time, children’s orphanage with 29 children at Kosgama, managed by Sarvodaya Suwa Setha Seva Society were offered lunch and troops gave away electrical appliances and sanitary items were donated.
 
Reading of the Commander’s message, raising of the Headquarters flag, recital of the Army song, tree planting, an all rank tea table followed a special Bodhi Pooja ceremony at Boralugoda temple the same evening.
