The Launch of 'Yuga Yuga' by Colonel D.D.D. Serasinghe

The highly anticipated book 'Yuga Yuga', penned by Colonel D.D.D. Serasinghe, Commandant of the School of Military Police, was launched on Friday (09 Feb) at the Mass Media Center auditorium. The event was graced by General Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence as the Chief Guest.

The book was launched under the approval and guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army and Major General A.C.A. De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, Provost Marshal of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

Upon the arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the Provost Marshal, followed by the traditional lighting of the oil lamp by the distinguished attendees. Senior Professor Attanayake M. Herath delivered the keynote address and Lecturer Ajith Krishantha Seram conducted a thought provoking review of the book.

While addressing the audience, the Chief Guest, drawing on his personal experience with Colonel D.D.D. Serasinghe during wartime, commended the author's literary excellence.

Intriguing the audience, 'Yuga Yuga' delves into the life and leadership of King Walagamba, also known as the Great Black Lion of the Anuradhapura Kingdom. The book explores the king's philosophical approach, focusing on the potential of universal and mind power, even drawing parallels to contemporary warfare situations.
