The patients at both Akmeemana Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) and Karandeniya Hospital Intermediate Care Centre, served largely by 613 Brigade, 9 Gemunu Watch (GW) and 14 (v) GW troops with health employees were gifted with sanitary items and dry ration packets on Friday (25).
This donation to inmates at those ICCs was made by the daughter of late Major General A.S.S. K Hamangoda who passed away during terrorist attack on 4th July 1996 in Jaffna. The donor after arriving at both locations handed over those gift parcels to troops, manning those ICCs.
Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division coordinated the donation and Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku, Commander 613 Brigade personally supervised the troops during the distribution.
