Generosity extended by the Kotikawatte Lions Club President Mr Nihal Dharmasiri, his spouse and other members of the Lions Club enabled 144 Infantry Brigade troops of the 14 Infantry Division to initiate a project for provision of dry ration packs to 35 low income group families in Kotikawaththa, Mulleriyawa on Saturday (26 August).
The project, meant to promote goodwill between troops and the general public was encouraged by Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, Security Forces - West and Brigadier K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayaka USP, General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division. Brigadier K.M.V Kodithuwakku, Commander, 144 Infantry Brigade supervised the project with the Commanding Officer, 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
The Civil Affairs Officer, 144 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks as well as the Chairperson (Samurdhi) at Mulleriyawa Division were present.
