A group of community welfare-conscious villagers at Medawachchiya, Kokatiyagollewa, headed by Ven Mahavilachchiya Wimala Thero recently visited remote Vikumpura and Kondachchi villages in the general area under command to the 54 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) and provided school accessories and dry ration packs to students and needy families.
The programme, conducted under the supervision of Major General D.S.D Welikala was organized by the 542 Brigade HQ with the support of Civil Affairs Officer in the 54 Division. 42 families and 14 students living in those villages were benefited under the project which also gave away a special ration pack to one pregnant woman in the area.
