KLN Officers & Other Rankers Learn Importance of 'Media & Its Impact'

More than 250 Officers and Other Rankers serving Divisions, Brigades and other formations of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Wednesday (30) received awareness on the 'Importance of Media, Its Impact on the Organization & Society' during a full-day lecture session, held at the SFHQ-KLN auditorium.

Following an invitation, extended by Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi, Mr Sisira Wijesinghe, Army Media Adviser delivered lectures in this regard, covering a wide range of topical themes, such as Media's Positive and Negative Impacts, Its Evolution, Social Media, Management of Media, Current Media Trends, Challenges, Basic Concepts of Mass Communication, Civil-Military Relationships, International Focus, New Technologies, Mass Media's Behaviour, Publicity Techniques, General Rules and Ethics, Development Journalism, etc.

Lectures, followed by interactive question-answer sessions got underway separately for both Officers and Other Rankers respectively at the SFHQ-KLN premises.

Towards the end of the sessions, Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi presented a token of appreciation to the lecturer.
